The most dominant modern dynasty in Liga MX has officially drawn to a close. Club America confirmed this Wednesday that head coach Andre Jardine has stepped down from his position, tendering his resignation following a direct meeting with the club's board. The decision, catalyzed by a recent quarterfinal exit in the Clausura 2026 tournament against arch-rivals Pumas UNAM, marks the conclusion of a historic tenure that yielded six official trophies.

According to statements released via the club's official channels, the separation was reached by mutual consent. The structural shake-up comes on the heels of major administrative departures within the institution, including high-ranking executives Hector Gonzalez Iñárritu and Diego Ramirez. Facing a natural sporting decline after an inconsistent domestic campaign, Jardine opted to bring an end to his cycle.

"Andre Jardine concludes his highly successful chapter with Club America. After winning six championships with us, including a historic 'Tricampeonato' (three-peat), we can only thank you for your immense commitment and work," stated the press release from the Coapa institution, cementing the Brazilian as the most successful manager in modern club history.

Jardine arrived at Club America in the Apertura 2023 tournament as an emergency appointment following the sudden exit of Fernando "Tano" Ortiz. Transitioning from Atletico San Luis, the Brazilian tactician immediately unlocked the full potential of an elite squad, securing three consecutive Liga MX league titles: Apertura 2023 (against Tigres), Clausura 2024 (against Cruz Azul), and Apertura 2024 (against Monterrey). This feat established America as the first-ever consecutive three-time champion in the short-tournament era.

Beyond league success, Jardine expanded the club's trophy cabinet with three additional honors: a Champion of Champions cup, a Liga MX Supercup, and the Campeones Cup, totaling six titles within his first 100 matches in charge.

However, the unforgiving standards of Club America ultimately took their toll. The failure to secure a fourth consecutive title after falling to Toluca in the Clausura 2025 final, a devastating miss from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup following a qualifying loss to LAFC, and the recent Clausura 2026 playoff elimination against Pumas eroded the project's momentum. With Jardine's departure, Club America now enters a total rebuilding phase ahead of the upcoming season.
