Parisian dominance remains undisputed. The Paris Saint-Germain secured their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title on Wednesday with a clinical 0-2 victory over their closest rivals, RC Lens. In a high-stakes match at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Luis Enrique’s side showcased the trademark efficiency and defensive resilience that has defined their 2025-26 campaign.

The hero of the night was undoubtedly goalkeeper Matvei Safonov, who produced eight spectacular saves to deny a relentless Lens attack. While the home side controlled much of the possession and momentum, PSG’s individual brilliance made the difference.

At the 30-minute mark, Ousmane Dembélé provided a pinpoint assist for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who controlled the ball with his thigh before firing home the opener. In the dying moments of the match, teenage sensation Ibrahim Mbaye sealed the title with a stunning strike into the top corner following a swift counter-attack.

With 76 points, PSG holds a 9-point lead over Lens with only one game remaining, making them mathematically champions. This marks the club’s 12th league title in the last 14 seasons, further cementing their status as the untouchable powerhouse of French football. With the domestic trophy secured, PSG now turns its full attention to the UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30, chasing a historic quadruple.
